Scania R470 Truck

Long time Tamiya R/C owner first time Tamiya truck owner. Question: how do you shift the car without grinding the gears? I'm in the process of assembling it and thought I'd get an advance warning on how to shift the transmission. I plan on installing a super stock motor. Is that recommended? The truck is stunning. So real!!!
