I am setting up my (new) M-04M Mazda Eunos for TCS competition. My questions are below
1) What tire should tire and insert should i start off with for the asphalt?
2) I have purchased the M chassis hop-up shocks. What springs should i buy? I see a spring pack on ebay but not sure if they will fit. Part number?
3) Sway Bar usage recomended?

1. Slicks + medium inserts for rear. For the front it's up to you you can go with the slicks or treaded M grips depending on your driving style. Slicks up front will give you more grip and more oversteer but you could balance that with stiffer springs.

Use stiffer springs front than rear.
3. Sway bar set for M04 have been discontinued
I'm thinking of entering TCS this year. I have almost a complete M04 chassis from spares left over after hopping up my NA Miata with aluminum bits. I need to get a body, thinking of running a Beetle body.

No updates?
Anyway.....I just finished assembling my M04L chassis and to my surprise it handles really well stock with slicks on all 4 corners. I've heard people complaining about having lots of oversteer etc but I honestly don't see it at all. In fact I actually assembled the springs per the instructions with the solfter ones up front.

From my expierence, my mo4m dosent oversteer... It has major understeer. I can't get the thing to turn for the life of me! I have slicks up front and s grips in the rear. For now, it seems to be the best combo. I think it needs more camber and more ackerman IMO. Little bit more caster could help too I'm sure. But let's face it, if you want all that, buy the ta05. I did. I only bought this car for the TCS races as an extra car.
About the oversteer you can change the springs, bring the hard one to front and use the soft at rear.
With the soft at rear the car should be too low, because the weight of motor. So you can use some spaces with the spring to up the car rear.
Other thing that may oversteer you car is the Front Toe. If you have Toe out (\--/) your car has less steerif you car have Toe In (/--\) you may have more steer. If I donīt wrong the manual default is parallel (|--|). I use Tou Out at my car.

I'm toe out as well. The car handles poor in a straight line otherwise!

The way my stock M04L suspension is setup:
Front: Soft stock bronze springs with spring preload collars.
Rear: Stiff stock chrome springs without preload collars.
Front has a tiny bit of toe-in.
Soft slicks on all 4 corners.
With that setup and a stock silvercan motor + 21T pinion + 2S LiPo it has a little bit of understeer only under FULL power. In this configurations it is very easy to drive and control.
When you turn your car, they donīt spin, lose the rear?:omg:

If I let go of the throttle during a turn there is a tendency to snap oversteer which is expected just like on a real car.:D
