View Full Version : Ta05 200mm, is possible?
Hello All,
Someone know if is possible change the TA05 width to a 200mm? That without use offset wheels.
I looking for some change in suspension arms or a long Axle Shaft.
I remeber some old M04 cars, like S2000 and BMW come with a rear long axle shaft (round +10mm offset).
I ask that because in my country, Brazil, its easy to find 200mm body, for glow cars.
Best regards,

Oi Tuba,
Wheel offset is the easiest way. There are many people that race 190 mm with 200 mm bodies and they use HPI wheel offsets.
You could try long wheel axles but they may not reach 200 mm, plus you would have to give up CVDs and use dog bones! Tamiya does not make long wheel axle CVDs.. I researched this a few years ago for a project.
Hello Guys,
Thanks for the answers.
I looking for something like "Long Suspension Arm Set" for Ta05, like these for TL01/FF2.

Actualy I use a offset wheels with my 200mm body. I have the "SP549 Piece Wide Mesh Wheels" and HPI wintage wide Wheels. Both are around +8 offset and fits fine. But its a wide. At rear no problem but at front its a little strange...
Its too bad tamiya donīt make like HPI E10 and old RS4 car, that width are adjustable...
Best regards guys, :)

Hello Guys,
Yesterday I change a little my project.
I leave the Ta05 and used old GroupC chassis.
Thats fit fine on 200mm touring body and the tire/wheelers looks fine!

Thats a body from HPI and the paint schema is from a Stockcar. These league use the same concept as Nascar, the engine is the same. But here we run in a course track.

Back on Ta05 200mm question, I think Tamiya should consider make a long arms to Ta05.

Tuba :)
