I plan on running a TA-05r in our local RCGT class at the nearby track as was wondering if anyone has any setups they want to share. Right now it is set up for drifting, but I only drift in the summer.

We race indoors on a small grippy carpet. I assume a firmer rubber tire setup would work best.

Thanks!

I used to race a TA05 for indoors here but moves up to a TRF.
when i ran my TA05 i used rubbers depending on the temp, but the tires ranged from 24 -32(Please note i live in New Zealand) an also what motor you are planning on running, maybe you could Try foams?? depending on what you club allows.

What rubber tires are available in your turf? I ussually used 28 0r 27 tires pre-mounted. Also used a softer spring, me I use silver in front and white on the rear with red stab in frnt and blue in the rear. Mostly the stock set-up from the box and just paly around with my springs.:Tamiya1:

I'll try to get some pictures soon, but it is basically a Copper Mix Drifter body.

We are limited to rubber tires, and specifically the part numbers listed below in the rules.

We must use a 17.5 brushless or 27-turn brushed motor.

RCGT is a class that is just starting to take off around here. I am a big fan of Tamiya stuff (just built a Knight Hauler Semi) as well as own quite a number of other chassis kits such as TT-01 and different M-series kits. I thought the TA-05 would be perfect for the RCGT class.

I run a Ta05r in RCGT, My setup would not help you, as it is for a large asphalt track.

I would start with the kit setup, the X patterns have a "better then you think" grip level

That is so true about the HPI X patterns :agree:.. RCGT looks like a fun class Railroader and the TA05-R is a great chassis...

RCGT is such a great class, fun to race, and great for getting new people interested....

Tamiya has a quiver of chassis that are perfect for RCGT, and you cannot go wrong with almost any body from the big T

Just for grins, I am going to our first RCGT Series race in a week or so, I will post my setup after that. The track is a bit smaller, and less traction then what we normally run on.
