Like most Tamiya addicts I end up with lots of spare parts around so I thought why not put them to use and build a whole car. An old TL-01 was cleaned up and rebuilt with new gears and bearings. Fitted an extra 2001 prototype Suabru body set some TRF shocks, 35t lathe motor with 21t pinion. Rally block tires and subaru wheels. I wanted it to be something other than blue but also using paints I already had so silver and black came about. I used an extra interior set I had and did a quick paintjob for the drivers in a generic color scheme. I plan to later add more details like mud flaps and exhaust pipes.

I did the same exact build as you except with a 2004 Subaru body and 15T motor. I found that the rear bounces around too much over some rougher gravel/dirt. I took out the rear stabilizer bar and went with a normal yellow spring in the front and an onroad hard tuned red in the rear. works pretty good now.

Looks great Seth! :common001: I will have to get to building my prototype body but only after I get some custom sticker sheets printed. Love the look of this one though.

Thanks fellers, with the speeds generated by 35t motors the settings are very forgiving but I can imagine with a 15t every little tweak makes a difference. Waiting to see your build Jesse, if what you talked about with me is what you do it will look killer.

Nice Scooby!! I like the silver. It is a nice change to the always seen dark blue.
