I'm getting back to RC racing. Last time I did this I had a Tamiya Wild One from the 80s (WooHoo) so I bought a TA-05 ( I figure it owuld be a nice starter car). I'm thinking of putting a 17.5 Brushless kit in it because it seems to be the starter class motor.

I need advice/suggestions on spur/pinion gear configuration. What would be a good setup for Novice/RCGT class?

Your gearing would probably depend on your class and the track you would be running at. Find out what ratio other 17.5 guys are using where you will be racing. Im using Ta05 in 17.5 using 4.2ish FDR, works great.

Would also depend on what motor/speedo combination, as well as timing on the motor. To keep it simple, work on your gearing with the factory settings for timing.
